Strataderm
The most advanced scar gel.

Strataderm

Other scar therapies promise results, Strataderm delivers results...

Strataderm has been developed using new silicone technology, which does not use SiO2 (sand or glass) to aid in drying. Superior durability, skin-feel posts application and drying time are some of the advantages of Strataderm’s advanced and unique formulation ensure that even an ultra thin layer application binds to the stratum corneum forming a durable sheet. This ultra thin waterproof sheet increases the hydration of the stratum corneum but also allows the skin underneath to breathe.
The thinner the layer the more durable the material will be and the better the breathability of Strataderm, thus making it a more cost-effective scar therapy as compared to other scar therapies in the market.  Moreover, this ultra thin layer protects the scar from external stimuli, which, as suggested by various authors, can be a contributing factor to scar formation that hinders natural scar reduction. The layer is a strong inert layer that is waterproof and will protect the area against invasion from pathogens as well as against chemical and physical assault.
Because Strataderm bonds to the stratum corneum in a durable sheet maximising the contact time of the silicone gel sheet. Continuous contact time is important under the modulation theory. Coupled with the ease of application, this ensures much greater patient compliance to therapy and visible results in just one month of continuous use.
Strataderm was developed for use on all types of scars including those resulting from:
• General surgery

• Trauma

• Chronic wounds

• Burns

• Bites

• Acne and other diseases of the skin.
Strataderm can also be used in conjunction with other invasive scar management options to improve overall results, including surgical excision and resuturing, intralesional injections and pressure garments. Strataderm is suitable for children or people with sensitive skin as it contains no active ingredients, is completely biocompatible and safe when used as directed.
Scar Prevento9n / Prophilaxis
Individuals who are prone to keloids or have a tendency to develop abnormal scars should consider Strataderm as a preventive therapy.
Strataderm is cost-effective and easy to use. It is most effective on active scars or scars that show symptoms of:

• Redness (increased vascularity)

• Itchiness or pain

• Scars that are hard, raised or contracted
Strataderm can be used on old or new scars.
• Ensure that the scar is clean and dry.

• Apply a very thin layer of Strataderm to the scar and allow to dry.

• Strataderm should be applied once daily, or twice daily to exposed areas or as advised by your physician.

• For best results Strataderm should be maintained in continuous contact with the skin (24 hrs day).

• Once dry, Strataderm can be covered by sunscreen, cosmetics, pressure garments or casts.
When applied correctly, Strataderm should be dry in 3–4 minutes. If it takes longer to dry you have probably applied too much. Gently remove the excess with a tissue and allow the drying process to continue.
